Clarifications
Complexity upcharge is for characters and backgrounds with “intricate” and dense designs. As a rule of thumb, if the character has a body more complicated than 2 arms, 2 legs, and a head, it’s likely to have a complexity upcharge.
Alts are versions of the same image with an altered face, extra body parts, or larger body parts from the original. One could commission a simple sequence using alts.
Partial character drawings receive a discount. This means busts, or a close and detailed drawing of part of a character’s body (feet or face, for example).
Simple characters receive the same discount as a Partial character. Simple characters are characters who are simplified/stylized like chibis or other specific simplified styles, or those who are simple, non-humanoid creatures.
If you’re unsure what counts as simple, complex, an alt, or partial, feel free to ask.
Mixing Levels of Completion is an option if you want some characters drawings to be fully rendered, some to be sketches, others to be flats, or any combination thereof. Use the Commission Description to describe what level of detail is used where.
Upgrading commissions can be upgraded, taking the price paid previously and subtracting it as a discount to the new level of completion. For example, upgrading Celshaded to a Render would reduce the price of the Rendered commission by the price paid for the Celshaded commission. Colored Sketches are an exception and are treated as Sketches for the purpose of an upgrade discount.
When is payment expected?
Payment for commissions is expected after confirmation via your contact method. I’ll paste your commission info to you and quote your price. After you confirm the commission is written as you want, I’ll send an invoice via PayPal. Work will not begin on your commission until the invoice is paid.
I do not accept payment methods other than PayPal.
Sketch Stream Commissions
Every other Tuesday there will be a stream on Picarto where I will raffle sketch commissions for a specific theme. This theme is voted on by patrons on Patreon on ‘off’ weeks — join the Patreon to suggest themes for the future!
Sketch Stream Commissions have a few rules:
One Character Per Person Per Theme You may only get a single character per theme. If you had already had a character commissioned during the specific theme you are not allowed to enter the raffle again. Naturally, if a theme happens again you can re-enter with the same limitation.
You May Join Together With Others You may work together with others to get multiple characters in a single image — say a friend of yours wins the raffle, you can get them to allow you to add your character to the commission. However, doing this prevents you from entering again as per the “One Character Per Person Per Theme” rule. This is limited to a total of 3 characters maximum.
Themes are Flexible Your commission may have things other than the theme in them, but the listed theme must be dominant in the piece.
Payment Is Expected Immediately Upon Winning After winning I will provide you with a Paypal checkout link to pay. Work won’t begin until payment is confirmed.
